Boulders Conference Center
In the early 2000’s the Denison Community Golf Course’s clubhouse was beginning to deteriorate and needed to be replaced. After much discussion, the golf course gifted 5.01 acres to the city to be used as the site for a conference center, street, and parking lots. By December, 2005, the old clubhouse had been removed paving the way for Boulders Conference Center construction.
The first event took place on May 19, 2006, under the direction of a part-time temporary manager. A full-time manager was hired in July, 2006, and in October of that year the center had unveiled its logo.
Boulders Drive, the street which runs past Boulders Conference Center, was formally dedicated in August, 2007, helping to facilitate the construction of a hotel near the center. On April 1, 2008, Boulders Inn & Suites opened its doors. In 2019, the hotel was purchased and re-named Cobblestone Inn & Suites.
Boulders Hall, the Wally Lauridsen Room, Rotary Room, and Boardroom are all located on the upper level of the facility along with a catering kitchen and facility office. Up to 420 people may be seated in the entire full banquet hall, 220 in Boulders Hall only, and 100 each in the Wally Lauridsen and Rotary rooms. The Tech Room in the lower level can accommodate up to 30 people in a classroom setting, and is perfect for small meetings.
In the lower level, Boulders Conference Center also houses a cart storage area, pro shop, and locker areas for the Majestic Hills Golf Course. The clubhouse, known as Majestic Hills Bar & Grille, is also located on the lower level of the facility.
Boulders staff members accommodate various events throughout the year, including weddings, wedding receptions, graduation parties, corporate meetings, single-day and multi-day conferences, banquets, auctions, quinceañeras, class reunions, bridal and baby showers, family reunions, birthday parties, fundraisers, and more.
