City Reminds Landlords to Re-Register their Rental Properties

Rental property owners are required to register their housing units each year, and submit the Rental Property Registration Form with a Rental Self-Certification form for each property. Forms need to include all rental properties (both occupied and vacant) and providing all contact information.

Property owners need to inspect their own rental properties, fill out the Rental Self-Certification form for each unit, and submit them to City Hall along with the registration and payment. These forms must be filled out completely to be valid.

The Rental Property Registration Form form and the Rental Self-Certification form can be obtained from City Hall, by clicking on any of the links in this article, or downloaded from our website, Click on “Forms” at the top of the page, then Rental Properties on the left of the page where both forms are available for download.

The deadline to submit Registrations and Rental Self-Certification forms is January 1, 2023.  A late fee of $50.00 per structure will be assessed to registrations received after March 1, 2023. Failure to return registrations by April 1, 2023 will result in a $250.00 Municipal Infraction per structure.

All rental property owners whose last names begin with A – F are required to call City Hall to set up a time for an inspection of their rental unit(s) by January 31, 202. Pending the results of the inspection(s), a Certificate of Occupancy will be issued for each property.  Without this Certificate of Occupancy, your property will not be eligible to be a rental unit.

If you have any questions, please contact City Hall at 263-3143.
