Program Coordinator (Full Time)

Deadline to submit Program Coordinator applications is April 1, 2022. Position open until filled.

The program communicator oversees various recreational programs, occasional aquatic programs, and employees. They help oversee Aquatic Center when needed and are on call on the weekends when Parks & Recreation Director and Assistant Aquatics Director are gone, if not already working. Reports to Parks & Recreation Director.

Major Responsibilities:

  • The supervision of programs and staff.
  • Assists in maintenance record keeping.
  • Assists in recruitment and training of new staff.
  • Attending and assists running staff meetings.
  • Public Relations.
  • Selling tickets and signing individuals up for programs.
  • Creating, promoting, and running recreational and aquatic programming.
  • Addressing minor complaints.
  • Maintaining water chemistry.
  • Lifeguard when needed.
  • Remain in contact and work with existing recreational boards/committees in Denison.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Parks & Rec Maintenance (Seasonal/Full-Time)

This position enforces rules and regulations to ensure the safety of the public. Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of all Parks and Recreation facilities. Works as assigned by the Parks & Recreation Director, Aquatic Center Chief Head of Maintenance, Assistant Director, and/or Assistant Manager. Possible places to work – Aquatic Center, Northside Rec, Little League Complex, Maxwell Park, Morningside Park, Tuckers Park, Tuckers Pond, Union Park, Johnson Park, Doty Park, Hillcrest Park, 7th Street Field, Washington Park, Denison Dog Park, and all other locations as assigned. Reports to: Parks & Recreation Director, Aquatic Center Chief Head of Maintenance, Assistant Director, Assistant Manager. Applicants must be at least 16 years old.

Lifeguard (Part-Time)

Enforce rules and regulations to ensure the safety of the public. Responsible for cleanliness of facility. Works as assigned by the Parks & Rec Director, Assistant Director, and/or Assistant Manager on a part-time basis. Reports to Parks & Rec Director, Assistant Director, Assistant Manager, and/or Supervisor. Applicants must be at least 15 years old.

Concessions Staff (Seasonal/Part-Time)

Enforce rules and regulations to ensure the safety of the public. Responsible for cleanliness of facility. Works as assigned by the Parks & Rec Director, Assistant Director, Assistant Manager, Concessions Manager, and/or Supervisor on a part-time basis. Possible places to work: Aquatic Center concessions, mini golf course, Northside Rec concessions, or 24th Street concessions. Reports to: Parks & Rec Director, Assistant Director, Assistant Manager, Concessions Manager, and/or Supervisor. Applicants must be at least 14 years old.
